Bristol Rovers Shock Striking Tactics
|
The two players have only played two minutes together and this is mainly due to the good form of youngster Lewis Haldane, who is likely to be rested this weekend to prevent him suffering burnout.
The choice to partner the pair upfront this weekend comes has a shock to most Rovers fans because of them being the same sort of players.
"I definitely think they can play together,
"As long as we've got two wingers playing and we've got pace outside them and crosses coming in then it would work.
"They are both footballers, as opposed to Lewis Haldane and Junior Agogo.
"With all due respect, those two are all about aggression and pace and very different to Paul Tait and Lee Matthews.
"I think we would hold the ball better with Lee and Paul up front, because they've both got a great touch and link up play well."
Matthews himself does not mind who partners him up front - as long as he is playing first team football.” said the care-taker manager.
A mid-table finish looks on the cards for Bristol Rovers.
