1-0 last time we met
| A look ahead to Brentford |
|
With Wrexham getting their first points of 2004 on Tuesday away at Grimsby, this Saturdays match away to Brentford will see Wrexham wanting to make it two wins in a week.
Both summer signings Chris Llewellyn and Chris Armstrong got in on the scoring along with Stephen Thomas to the satisfaction of manager Denis Smith.
Stephen Thomas will almost certainly want to keep his place in the starting line up after scoring his first goal of the season on Tuesday evening.
Carlos Edwards had a hand in all three goals to prove why he is so important to Wrexham as they aim to reach this seasons play-offs.
I'm sure everyone will agree when I say it was brilliant to see Llewellyn and Armstrong both score in the same match and also to see injury plagued Armstrong play 90 minutes.
We seemed to have lacked goals in recent games against teams battling against relegation.
With Lee Jones still out injured it was a relief to see Armstrong come through without any serious worries.
We don't conceded many goals so with a bit of flare upfront and the front men on form, I see no reason not to get one of the four play-off places.
Fingers will be crossed that there isn't a performance like the Chesterfield and County games.
So will Armstrong play a second successive 90 minutes? Will Llewellyn score in two successive games for the first time in a Wrexham shirt?
Hector Sam returns to the Wrexham squad, but must still be sore have having stitches in a shin wound picked up against Notts County last weekend. With no new injury worries or suspensions, Manager Denis Smith adds the Trinidadian striker to the 16 players on duty at Blundell Park.
