Saints lost there first match in five matches at Easter Road with Rob Jones and Derek Riordan scoring the goals for Hibernian.

Steven Thicot came close to scoring in the first 15 minutes but Mark Howard pushed the ball wide of the goal. The resulting corner saw Hibs towering defender heading the ball into the net a putting Hibs into the lead.

Colin Nish had the next chance to score for the Hibees after the Saints defence failed to get a tackle in but the shot ended up wide of the target.

Sol Bamba came close to doubling the lead before the second half but Mark Howard pulled off afantastic save.

In the second half Saints had many chances to equalize including a Scott Cuthbert header but it went wide.

Bamba came close again but his header came off the post.

Jack Ross had a shot the possibly deflected off of an arm but was well saved by Grzegorz Szamotulski.

Andy Dorman then had a great chance to level the scores but the the midfield maestro took too long on the shot and ended up wide of the goal.

Derek Riordan sealed the match for the Edinburgh club in the 84th minute from a shot at the edge of the box hitting the back of the net.

Saints face a tough challenge next week when the take on Dundee United at Tannidice.
