Dundee United 2-0 St. Mirren
By Jamie Cockburn September 17 2007
Dundee United moved to third place in the SPL with a comfortable win over a less than impressive St. Mirren at Tannadice. Saints just were not in the game at all and I can't recall ONE shot at goal all game, drastic changes need to be made, which include tactics and players.

Willo Flood got the first chance of the game in the first 20 seconds when he surged passed defender into the penalty area, making Chris Smith produce a good save.

However, the early chance was to prove a false dawn as the match quickly became poor.

Hunt sent a header over the bar and Jordan Robertson headed wide for Dundee United that was more threat than St Mirren, who kept thumping aimless balls up the park to a non-existent Kean and Mehmet.

The breakthrough came in the 38th minute when John Robertson shot from 20-yards was blocked by Miranda and sent into the path of Hunt who side-stepped Smith and rolled the ball into the back of the net.

It got worse for St. Mirren when Franco Miranda was sent off in the second half due to a second yellow card.

United took full advantage and in the 69th minute they doubled their lead when Robertson sent his strike beyond Smith at the near post.

Dundee Utd could of scored twice after that with Robb blazing his shot over the bar after rounding the keeper and then again Robb hitting the post.
