St. Mirren took all three points after an impressive 2-0 win over Dundee United with goals coming from Stewart Kean and Kirk Broadfoot.

It took only 2 minutes for the first card to be shown, after Kirk Broadfoot dived in the penalty area.

 

United were first to make a shot when Gomes fired his shot over the bar, before Noel Hunt challenged the buddies keeper with a low drive from 20 yards, which was well saved.

 

In the 21st minute United’s Noel Hunt was shown a red card when he kicked at Kirk Broadfoot on the ground.

 

Saints took full advantage of the sending off, when a goal from Hugh Murray put the visitors in front, smashing the ball in the net from 15 yards out,

 

Kean went close to doubling the lead, but was only to be denied by a great chance from McCracken.

 

St. Mirren missed a chance in the second half to end the game when Kean missed a penalty, after Christian Kalvenes fouled Broadfoot.

 

Broadfoot headed number two in the bottom corner from 6 yards to crown a great individual performance.

 

Saints performance means that the relegation battle is not over.
