St. Mirren 0-1 Dunfermline
By jazza April 30 2007
St. Mirren handed Dunfermline a relegation lifeline after a Tam McManus goal put “The Pars” only a point behind St. Mirren in front of a capacity crowd.

The first half was very poor with both sides struggling to come into the game.

Souleymane Bamba nearly gave Dunfermline the lead in the 30th minute with a shot from the edge of the box but just ended up wide of the post.

Adam Hammill was next to scare “The Buddies” only for his low drive from 20 yards out, to flash by the post.

McManus looked to have given Dunfermline the lead after 51 minutes when he deflected Scott Wilson's shot into the net, but it was ruled out for offside.

Then Hammill was denied again when Chris Smith managed to save his shot after a mazing run into the box.

Dunfermline finally managed to break the deadlock when McManus pounced on Muirhead’s deflected shot and fired the ball home.

Dunfermline deserved the win as it looked like they wanted it more than St. Mirren. The saints showed no fight, no passion and the tactics obviously were not working.
