Falkirk 0-2 St. Mirren
By jazza April 24 2007
St. Mirren strengthened their gap over relegation rivals Dunfermline after a tremendous display against Falkirk with goals from Kean and Brady.

Falkirk was forced into a lot of defending in the opening 22 minutes with St. Mirren gaining nine corners.

David Van Zanten came close to opening the scoring but his header landed straight in the arms of Kasper Schmeichel.

Falkirk’s luck ran out when Milne knocked over Sutton in the box to give “The Buddies” a great opportunity to open the scoring in the 37th minute. Kean coolly sent Schmeichel the wrong way to send the Saints fans wild.

It was the second half before Falkirk won their first corner, Jack Ross heading wide as the home side at last caused a threat.

But Kean forced Schmeichel into two great saves with shots from just inside the box, as saints began to look more dangerous.

Saints doubled their lead in the 57th minute when Broadfoot smartly assisted Brady and steered the ball in the net from just outside the box.

It was all over for Falkirk in the 64th minute when Dodd lunged at John Potter, and the ref should him a straight red card.

Three vital points for St. Mirren which will restore a lot of confidence when they host relegation rivals Dunfermline at Love Street on Monday.
