Young Ones: Chris Sedgwick
By Paul Holmes
August 10 2002
In this edition of Young Ones we look at Rotherham's flying winger Chris Sedgwick.
A product of the youth system at Millmoor, Sedgwick terrorised many left-backs last season with his dangerous and direct runs.

One left-back who struggled to deal with the winger was Neil Clement of West Brom, who last was regarded as the best left-back outside the Premiership, proof that the hype around Sedgwick is deserved.

Also able to cover at right-back if required but Sedgwick is better when flying down the wing.

Despite being the owner of a sweet right footed shot, only one goal came Sedgwick's way last season. That and the accuracy of his crosses are the main elements of his game that needs working on.

If his form this season continues a big move is likely although Chris has just agreed a new 3-year-deal with the club.

Chris Sedgwick stats:

Birthplace: Sheffield
Date of birth: 28-04-1980
Height: 6.0
Weight: 12.03
Position:Attacking midfielder/Winger
Nationality:English
Squad Number: 24
Apperances to date: 103 (5) Goals to date: 12
