Newcastle United have signed Ipswich wonderkid Darren Ambrose for a cut price £1 million , due to Ipswich's financial plight.

It was reported Newcastle was interested in signing Ambrose last week , but the news all Town fans have feared has come true today , Ambrose 19 , has been in great form for Ipswich and Newcastle have jumped in quickly just like they did with Jermaine Jenas at Forest.

Ipswich need to sell to reportdly stop going into full administration, and Ambrose was just one of a few players exiting Portman Road this week.

Ambrose speaking to the Evening Chronicle said ""I am excited about moving to Newcastle United - but I am finding it all a bit scary."

"Not only that, but it's all a bit confusing. My mind is in a whirl about it all."
