Veteran striker Steve Claridge is set to hold discussions with Millwall club officials later in the week in a bid to obtain a new contract with the London club.
Boss Mark McGhee wants Claridge on board next season and will be hoping a deal can be thrashed out between the two parties.
However, chairman Theo Paphitis says the club wont be breaking the bank to keep Claridge at the club: "The manager has a budget he must stick to.
"Claridge is one of my favourite players but that is no reason to do anything silly."
"I hope when i sit down with him in the next few days this can be put to bed".
