Claridge To Open Talks
By Kevin Bethell March 18 2003
Steve Claridge is set to open contract talks with boss Mark Mcghee and the guys upstairs at The New Den.
Veteran striker Steve Claridge is set to hold discussions with Millwall club officials later in the week in a bid to obtain a new contract with the London club.

Boss Mark McGhee wants Claridge on board next season and will be hoping a deal can be thrashed out between the two parties.

However, chairman Theo Paphitis says the club wont be breaking the bank to keep Claridge at the club: "The manager has a budget he must stick to.
"Claridge is one of my favourite players but that is no reason to do anything silly."

"I hope when i sit down with him in the next few days this can be put to bed".
