Hot Shots - Grimsby Town's Steve Livingstone

striking veteran
By Matt Lond
March 10 2003
Hotshots profiles turn to Grimsby Town and there veteran striker Steve Livingstone.

Signed just over nine years ago from Chelsea, Steve didn't waste any time in making an impact here at Blundell Park, he loves getting involved in the thick of the action.

Used as a target man for Grimsby, he has scored a useful number of goals for the club in 50 but he is somewhat injury prone which is why he has only scored so little for the club in nine seasons, because he has hardly played at times.

Nowadays Steve has little pace but he makes up for that with his physical presence in the air, which helped his brief partnership this season with Steve Kabba shine, even though Kabba has gone back to Crystal Palace.

The general feeling amongst some Grimsby Town fans is that, as he is out of contract in the summer he could be released, due to the lack of games he's played but himself he will feel that he will have another few years left in the tank yet.
