Today, all of that changes!
For the first time on 7 or 8 years, Leeds United will be kicking a ball, completely equal to their opponents. Gone are the days of debts forcing player sales and the much publicised Adminstration process - gone are the points deductions and legal battles and for the first time in along time, Leeds united can do their talking on the pitch.
Manager, Gary McAllister has used the summer to strengthen the squad that would have been automatically promoted last year had it not been for the points that were deducted.
In comes Robinson, Snodgrass, Becchio, Showunmi and yesterday, Paul Telfer joined the Whites on a 'Pay as you Play' deal but it remains to be seen what the managers preferred line up is.
With no injuries threatening the side, only Neil Kilkenny is unavailable due to international commitements with the Australian squad in the Olympics.
Leeds are hot favourites to take the title this season with their opponenets today, mid-table in the odds - Scunthorpe are not expected to do well this season, but as we have seen throughout last year, the prospect of playing the Mighty Whites nearly always sees the other team lifting their game.
Kick-Off is 12 O'clock with live match commentary only available through Yorkshire Radio (DAB in the Yorkshire Area) or via LUTV (Subscription required) online.
