Huddersfield V Leeds Utd - Preview
By Rich Baggott April 15 2008
A bumper crowd is expected tonight at the Galpharm (formerly McAlpine) Stadium as local rivals, Leeds United and Huddersfield Town battle it out in this League 1 clash. Police are advising those travelling to allow extra time for their journey due to the size of the numbers expected. The match is scheduled to kick of at 7.45pm.

Leeds go in to the clash on the back of three straight victories.  Their latest outing, against Carlise that saw Leeds come from behind to run out eventual 3-2 winners.  Leeds have not lost in 6 games and have not lost away since 29th January when they went down 1-0 at Southend.

Jermaine Beckford is a serious doubt for the trip, suffering from a shoulder injury that saw him substituted just after the break on Saturday.  Tresor Kandol, who replaced him, performed well and should step in if the leading scorer does not recover in time.

Elsewhere, boss Gary McAllister is expected to keep faith with the same team. meaning in-form David Prutton is likely to be frustrated on the bench.  Sheehan is serving his final match suspension.

Leeds lie in 6th place in 67 points, with nearest rivals Walsall on 63. With Wallsall taking on Bristol Rovers tonight, if results go our way, we could end up 7 points clear wth three games to go, meaning only 2 points to guarantee a play-off spot.
