March 10th 2007 will go down as the day of the crossbar with all 3 United sides in action coming second best to a few yards of white painted 3by3.

At a windy Compton Park a mile down the road from Molyneux both Leeds u18 and u16's were in action.
Tom Elliott capped a strange month going from England youth duty, to 1st team duty, to scoring for the u18's and then appearing up front for the u16's this morning.
The u16's drew 1-1 against Wolves u16. United took the lead around 49 mins in the 2nd half when Ward burst into the box and hist shot was well stopped by the Wolves keeper, but Will Hatfield was quickest to the rebound to stab the ball home. Wolves equalised later in the half with a penalty.

The u18s started the 1st half with the wind behind them and showed their attacking intentions from the off, hopeing a win would take them a point behind leaders Nottm Forest who were due to play away at Scum United.

7 mins David Brown dropped off his marker on the back post and crashed a shot which hit the underside of the bar, the ball was judged not to have crossed the line
9 Duane Graces long throw into the box caused problems and Wolves managed to hack the ball to safety
11 An accidental challenge from Rothery caused a cut to the head of a Wolves forward who was subsituted
17 Hotchkiss's high ball to the back post was bundled into the net by Rose to give United the lead 1-0
19 Wolves first clear attempt on goal saw a 25 yd free kick fired well over the bar
21 Leeds corner cleared to Cartman, whose cross into the 6 yd box fell to Rose who managed to scoop the ball over the bar
27 Rose cut in from the right and his cross was met on the half volley by David Brown his shot narrowly over the bar
37 Ameobi controled a cross on his chest in the box but was bundled over, the ball fell to Brown who's skewed shot hit the bar, the ref waved away Ameobi's protests for a penalty as he gave Leeds advantage of playing on.
42 Another rare Wolves attack saw Lund punch clear a cross as he clattered a Wolves forward

ht 1-0
2nd half
55 Ben Gordon and Danny Rose conbined well on the left and interchanged passes to enable Rose to crooss cum shot across the 6yd box, Roses shot eluded David Brown and grazed the outside of the post
57 Lund did well to back pedal and tip a wind assisted punt forward over the bar
67 12 Stefan Connor replaced 9 Tomi Ameobi
75 Connor shoots wide from a tight position
80 14 Ovington replaces 10 Brown
81 Ovington quickly in the action shoots from wide right, shot saved
87 Another poor refereeing decision gives Wolves a free kick on the edge of the Leeds box, Hutton and Rothery both go into the ref's book for argueing
88 Lund, unsighted spilled a shot, but got down well to block a challenge and took a kick to the head, Leeds scramble the loose ball of the line

Another vital win for the U18'S at the top end of the table.
Danny Rose and Ben Gordon worked the left channel well, with Hotchkiss and Rothery putting in a good stint in midfield. Hard to pick out an individual in this match as it was a good all round team performance.

Editors Note: Rose is currently subject to speculation that Newcastle will make a £2m bid for the player in the Summer.
