Pre match the Forest officials were busy recalling the purple team sheet/programmes after several mistakes were spotted by a keen Leeds fan regarding the names of the Leeds players. New yellow teamsheets were printed off rather sharpish. So the keem programme collector need one of each colour for his collection.

Leeds fielded a very young side with Beckford the only player over 19.

Leeds started the match high tempo with quick passing and used an offside trap.
10 mins Howson saw the first real threat on either goal with a left foot shot that went wide
17 Rose went on a run, beat 3 players but his shot on his weaker right foot was comfortabally saved by the Forest keeper
18 Hird made 2 vital challenges in quick sucession to deny a Forest breakaway
21 Forest went 1-0 up after a forward got inside Camfield and shot past Lund
26 Forest went 2-0 up after beating the offside trap, Lund tried to spread himself and the shot squirmed off the underside of his body into the net
29 Rose played an inch perfect thro' ball to Beckford on the left, unfortunately Beckford sliced his shot well up into the Trent End
38 Camfield hits a piledriver from 20 yds, ball rebounds out to Bayly whose shot was cleared
40 HOWSON makes it 2-1 with a free kick bent over the wall giving the keeper no chance

2nd half
52 Lund spreads himself to clear a ball played behind the defence
58 Forest go 3-1 up after a cross from the left went low across the 6 yd box behind the defence leaving a Forest player to break thro with a great run into the box to smash the ball past Lund
60 Howson took a heavy knock, water break
65 Howson fails to run off his injury and is replaced by 14 David Brown
70 Leeds have a steady spell of pressure in the Forest half, Camfield wins a corner, Gardners corner cleared to Hird 30 yds out, who flicks the ball up and hirs a volley inches over
75 16 Nathan Cartman replaces 7 Tomi Ameobi
83 12 Duane Grace replaces 4 Ross Wilkinson
85 Hird makes a well timed tackle in the area to deny Forest
86 Cartman with a lovely bit of skill turns and shoots from 20 yds, the shot unfortunately clipped Brown and went wide
90 Leeds passed the ball about too much, got caught out and a quick pass behind the defence led to Forest going 4-1
90+1 Rose got in a tangle with a Forest player and was booked

A spirited performance from a young Leeds side against a Forest team who had several players with 1st team experience.
David Geddis the Reserve Team Coach has got the youngsters playing some good football at times

Overall Lund could do little about any of the goals, Hird and Wilkinson made some timely tackles at the back.
Howson showed some neat touches in midfield and his free kick was superb. Ameobi and Beckford up front were poor, with their first touch letting them down
