Our last visit to Millmoor saw an 8-0 victory for the boys in claret and blue, but how likely is that to happen again this year??
The current team, managed by highly rated Ronnie Moore are currently in their third season in division 1. Their one home game they’ve played this season produced a 0-0 draw playing Cardiff City. The aforementioned Ronnie Moore felt hard done by gaining only a point that day, saying:
‘All that was missing was the goals. We had enough good chances to have won 6-0, like we did on the opening day of last season.’
Familiar faces? Left back Scott Minto joined the Millers after being released in the summer by West Ham (no doubt a few at Upton Park are quietly regretting letting reliable Minto go now). Another well known player to look out for is Mark Robins, he of Manchester United fame (quite a few people think his F.A Cup goals saved Alex Ferguson’s career back in the day).
MILLMOOR
By Road
From M1
Leave the M1 at junction 33 and take the A630 dual carriageway towards Rotherham. At the first roundabout turn left, right at the next, then straight on at the third, and you will be able to see the floodlights to your left. The official 'away' fans car park is at the Zone nightclub. This is located on the other side of the dual carriageway, so go around the roundabout, and back along the dual carriageway. The Zone night club is located on the left hand side.
By Rail
Millmoor is about a five minute walk from the railway station. On exiting the station go left over the bridge. Head towards the floodlights over (or under via subway) the dual carriageway, and up Masbrough Street.
