Welsh Youngster Joins Blues
By Martin Williams
June 30 2004
Birmingham City have signed Welsh Under 17 player Jamie Price from Cheltenham Town. The player described as 'the new Robbie Savage' joins the Blues in a deal worth up to £100,000.
Part of the deal taking the 15 year old to St Andrews is the arrangement of a pre-season friendly between Cheltenham and Birmingham on 17 July.

"We had him here in January, every time we saw him he got better and better," said Blues academy boss Stewart Hall.

"There was serious interest from two or three Premiership clubs looking to take him on, but we'd got in first and tracked him all season."
