Coventry Telegraph Article 2 Season 2015/16

Sitting pretty! Currently fifth in the table, with a game in hand which could take us to the top if we win it, and a gap between us and 7th place!

There's competition for places, and decent options on the bench. Hands up who saw this coming over the summer?!

Saluting everybody currently involved at the club, because this potentially is what supporters have been waiting for for years .... make that decades!

Yes, this could all come crashing down over the next few games - which is why I'm enjoying it to the max - but maybe it won't?

I thought rumours that Ryan Kent might join our promotion push were farcical (Having viewed some superb moments from him on various websites, and thinking he would never drop lower than the Championship), yet he's here, and part of a potentially lethal attack!

There's a different atmosphere around the place at the moment compared to previous seasons, so here's hoping this is the start of something special.

There's definitely a better team spirit, and it's interesting following the players on Twitter, as there does seem to be a real camaraderie between them all.

We're playing well, and exciting to watch, so it would be nice if our impressive home form saw more supporters turn up to matches, though seemingly that will take a while longer.

I had a spare ticket for the Shrewsbury game, which I - unbelievably! - had trouble getting rid of. Finally, there was interest shown by a friend visiting Coventry for the day, and it's fair to say he was impressed by what he saw!

Had the teams decision making been better, they could have had ten. It's nice to know there is room for improvement though, which can only be a concern to opponents!

There have been gripes about our away form, though taking fifty per cent of the points on offer is promotion form in my book!

The third of those wins meant there was no opening day victory for Fleetwood's new manager, and no curse of the former player - quite the reverse, with Richard Wood helping us to victory!

There was almost an impromptu shout of delight at the Skegness Alternative Weekend, as the poor signal on my phone momentarily allowed updates, revealing we had won with a late goal.

I predicted Reice Charles-Cook would do well if selected this season, and three clean sheets so far is a decent start! He might be correct stating Lee Burge was unlucky to be left out, but he's making the most of his chance so far. Long may that continue.

Saturday sees slightly improving Blackpool (Three wins on the trot) visit the Ricoh. It would be nice if the black covers in the corners needed moving round slightly further....
