Head-To-Head: The two sides have met eighty-five times, with Coventry City having won only a pitiful 17 times (Fourteen in the league), Forest have won 40 times (Thirty-eight in the league), and there have been 28 drawn games (Twenty-seven in the league). Coventry City have won three and drawn one of the last two fixtures between the sides, including a 4-1 drubbing in the 2004/5 season, with Andy Morrell scoring two of the goals.
This Season: In the fixture between the two sides earlier in the season, the final result was 2-2, with Ward giving the home side an early lead, and Earnshaw equalising 25 minutes later. Two minutes after Forest's goal Morrison put the home side ahead, but Coventry gifted the strugglers a point, allowing Garner to equalise.
Recent Form: Coventry City have lost three and drawn one of their last away fixtures, with last weekends abject surrender versus Plymouth being as poor display as has been witnessed all season. Forest have won three, drawn one, and lost one of their last five home games, and beat Bristol City last weekend with a last minute goal from Dexter Blackstock. Two days later they earned an impressive draw away at Sheffield United.
Team News: Guillaume Beuzelin is an injury doubt, having picked up a knock versus Charlton, and could be replaced by Aron Gunnarsson. If neither of them are available, Ashley Cain could end up being selected by default! Robbie Simpson is also close to being re-called (Though Cain would be my preference!). The usual suspects, Leon Best and Leon McKenzie, are still out for the season, while some sites report that James McPake is close to fitness. Nathan Tyson, linked with a move to Coventry fairly recently, could be fit to play for the home side, as could Joel Lynch. Robert Earnshaw is unlikely to play due to injury, while on loan keeper Iain Turner, who was badly at fault for both Bristol City goals last weekend, is missing with a broken toe.
Betting Odds: According to oddschecker, Ladbrokes can't be bothered with this fixture! William Hill have Forest at 4/5 to win, Coventry City at 7/2, and the draw is 5/2. Blackstock is 5/1 with the same company to be the first goal scorer, while Joel Garner is 6/1. For Coventry, Eastwood is 8/1, and Morrison 9/1. Always my favourites for an outside bet, Fox is 25/1, and Dann 28/1, with bet365 (Fox is as low as 14/ with WH, and Dann 20/1).
