Coventry City are once again linked with Richard Wood of Sheffield Wednesday, and, despite saying Stephen Wright's injury wasn't that bad, the club are also looking to bring in a right-back for a month. Anybody got Richard Duffy's phone number?
The sooner a new or back-up right-back can be brought in the better, as Aron Gunnarsson clearly isn't enjoying the role! He was quoted as saying: 'I did my job and I only did it for the team and for the gaffer. I don't like to play there, I'm not having fun playing there but you have to do it'.
Also on the injury front, Kieran Westwood has a dislocated thumb, but is expected to travel with the squad to Doncaster, while 'Super' Freddie Eastwood might be available too. Leon Best is also back in training following his injury lay-off.
Carlisle are supposed to be interested in Chris Birchall, but still nobody is interested in 'Player Of The Decade' (In his own head at least) Michael Mifsud. Manager Chris Coleman has said he would welcome Mifsud back should said player pledge his future to the club, but, as of yet, MM's commitment to the cause is on a par with his goalscoring ability....
Chris Coleman says that had there still been monitors available for managers to replay incidents during matches, he probably wouldn't have blasted Phil Dowd over his decision to allow Bristol City's opening goal. He did not mention the other 99 incidents Dowd got wrong though....
Freddie Eastwood, Michael Mifsud, and Aron Gunnarsson have all been called up for international duty. What chance the mis-firing Mifsud suddenly finds the net again while playing for his national side?
In old-boy news, Paul Telfer has signed a one-year contract at Leeds United, while David McNamee is injured! Scrap that last bit of info, as it's not news, more a foregone conclusion....
