Grant Brown joined the Imps in the late 80's from Leicester City and went onto make well over 400 appearances for the Imps and broke the League Appearances record in the away game at York in 2001/2, making his 403rd appearance for the club. However, he was released during the following summer after the Imps went into administration and he went to play for Telford and Alfreton. However, he did do work in the local community, following in ex-Imp, Dean Walling's footsteps of coaching young kids.
However, the oppurtunity only came about when John Schofield was promoted to be a coach on the first team, Keith told the official site, "John deserves his chance for all the hard work he's put into youth development." John rejoined the club in 2000 as a player and went onto eventually lead the youth team to relative success and several products of the youth team are set to make a challenge for the regular team.
This is a good move for all involved and is a step further towards the Goal 2010 project.
