Guide to Macclesfield
By Nathan Jackson
December 3 2004
Going to Macclesfield? Here's the guide to Macclesfield as both a club and the local area. Listed here is information about the ground, admission prices, Macclesfield's record and general information about Macclesfield Borough itself.

THE GROUND

Moss Rose is a quaint ground, it fits the size of the club and is generally more than Macclesfield will seemingly need for a while. I mean that as no-disrepect and at least their not making stupidly big grounds that they more than likely aren't going to fill, a certain Darlington comes to mind.

The ground is mainly terracing with only 2,599 of the 6,335 capacity being seating and almost all of that coming in the fairly neat, but small Alfred McAlpine stand which is located at the side of the pitch. Opposite that is a pitch length terrace with a tiny seated area just above the terrace at the half way point. The final home stand is a small half seated in front of a small terraced area in which the small amount of singing comes from. The away fans are seated either in a third of the Alfred McAlpine Stand or in the Silkmen End which is open terracing so hope it doesn't rain (that was a fun Boxing Day, rain, snow, sleet and a 1-0 win).

THE LOCAL AREA

To quote the Macclesfield Borough website, "There is little chance of boredom with so much to see and do in the Borough of Macclesfield. The increasing number of visitors for days out, weekend breaks or longer holidays highlights the wide range of high-quality attractions which are available. Historic houses in abundance, the world-famous Jodrell Bank, two major award-winning museums at Quarry Bank Mill and the Macclesfield Silk Museum are all places which seek to entertain, amuse and educate their visitors."

Other features in Macclesfield feature a rather large shopping area as well as some farms that you're allowed to walk through with plenty of animals to look at. Other than that, Macclesfield is your typical Borough.

FAMOUS FANS?

Big Brother contestant Stuart and his "Team Handsome" friends are apparantly big fans of the club but other than that, no famous person is believed to do a fan.
