Ex-Imps sign for Darlo
By theimps.tk
July 2 2009
Two Lincoln City old boys have signed for Darlington. Lee Thorpe and James Bennett have both joined Colin Todd's rebuilding of Darlington. Many of their old players have now left, most following Dave Penney to Oldham, but these two ex-Imps aren't likely to the foundations of a promotion chasing side.

As well as signing eight other players, Darlington have signed the man who was City's leading goalscorer for five seasons running, Lee Thorpe, although the man who left for Leyton Orient has never had the same sort of success in front of goal as he had at Sincil Bank. Having since played for teams such as Bristol Rovers, Swansea, Grimsby and Rochdale, he has always been a striker who many have found surprising that he has remained in the Football League.

James Bennett on the other hand joined on loan last season, failing to play a single minute of football for the Imps.
