Imps get long term target Elding
By theimps.tk
January 6 2009
Peter Jackson has brought Anthony Elding to the club after many failed attempts to do so from previous managers. Keith Alexander tried on numerous occasions to secure the signature of Elding, only to be denied because of various rumours, but now "Eldo" has joined City on loan from Crewe Alexandra.

Elding was a long term target under Alexander. As soon as he fell out with Stevenage Borough, it looked inevitable that City would sign him, only for Stevenage to strangely say they would sell him to anyone except the Imps. He subsequently joined Kettering Town, Keith again failing to get him a few months later.

He is the second striker to join the club in the last few days as Jackson looks to improve City's fire power following a goalshy start to the season that has seen City as the lowest scorers in the top half of the table.

Elding joins on an "emergency" (whatever happened to a normal loan?) loan for 3 months.

With regards to the last line about normal loans, emergency loans are three months, whereas the normal loans are either full season or half season.
