Butcher to miss Lincoln visit
By Mr. E. Nigma
December 3 2008
Richard Butcher won't be facing his former side after injuring his metatarsel. The injury will see Butcher out of action for Notts County until February and that will be good news to the Imps as Butcher is one of the highest regularly scoring midfielders to be in League Two each season.

Butcher joined the Imps in 2002 from Kettering Town, scoring his first goal a few weeks later when Shrewsbury came to Sincil Bank. He stayed at Sincil Bank until 2005, leaving for Oldham after the Playoff Final defeat to Southend United. He quickly returned to Sincil Bank on loan. He has since played for Peterborough and is now at Notts County. Butcher's two spells at Sincil Bank saw him make 126 appearances and score 13 goals.

The former Imp is proving to be a bit prolific for the Magpies and is averaging a goal just over every three games, scoring 17 goals in 64 games. However, his appearance against Kettering on Saturday has resulted in a broken metatarsel and he will now miss the game between the Magpies and the Imps on the 20th.

Do you rate any of the ex-Imps at Counteh, Josh?

If it wasn't for Butch, you'd be struggling alongside the Clee Cods at the bottom, so I'd be thankful for his goals if I were you!
