Acum ori niciodată să dăm dovezi în lume

After one of the most complicated transfer sagas in recent history, Lincoln City have finally secured the signing of Adrian Patulea. The Romanian striker's transfer for the club has taken over a month with many twists and turns on the way, but he will finally join the club and will hopefully go into tomorrow's squad to face Grimsby Town

Not many had heard of Adrian Patulea when he turned up at Sincil Bank for a friendly against Lincoln United in July. Many fans looked at him and thought to themselves, "WHO IS THAT?" But 90 minutes later and we all knew his name and he had scored a brilliant hatrick in the space of the second half.

From that point onwards it's been a struggle. Visiting his brother, Patulea was encouraged to try and sign for Lincoln City and he begged Peter Jackson for the aforementioned chance, got it and impressed many that the club tried to bring him in, however, that's when the confusion started.

After initially telling Peter Jackson that he had no current club, it turned out he was in the middle of a three year contract with Petrolul Ploiesti, a club in Romania's second division. Several weeks of negotiations, highs and lows, optimism and pessimism later and Patulea is almost a City player. He has penned a contract until the end of the season and if the necessary paper work is processed by 2pm on Friday afternoon, he will be eligible to play in the big derby game against Grimsby Town.

Good luck to the guy. Lets face it, he can't do any worse than the current batch who seem to be performing like a collection of Petula Clarks (don't @#$%& in the subway darling, one hit wonder of the 60's).

Kevin Gall, etc, he gets the ball, he does fuk all. If we can't score against a dire bunch of cods, I'll be looking for the Bournemouth and Luton scores for the rest of the season. How about drafting in a few Siemens contract labourers to sharpen up the squad?

He will have a greater hunger and desire to play, he really wants this opportunity.

Lets hope he gets on against Grimsby, and scores.

For all those that are curious, the title is the first line in the second verse of the Romanian national anthem, translating as "Now or never, let's give proof to the world"

Petula Clark had two big hits in the sixties, (and loads and loads in the fifties), the aforementioned "subway" and also "the other man's grass is always greener" (or something like that), I just hope our Rumanian striker doesn't find that out and eventually wish he stayed in Rumania!

I'm sure he won't, if nothing else he'll make our other mis-firing strikers work and try harder in order to keep their places and that can't be bad.

regards

Petula Clark

With more than 70 million records sold worldwide, she is the most successful British female solo recording artist. Last chart success no 17 in the album charts 2007.

The wonders of Google and the Guiness book of records!

If our new striker can score goals like she sold records we're laughing all the way to league 1. (I can dream can't I?).

Regards

A pity. A lovely lady. Had the pleasure of sitting next to her once on a flight from Geneva to London. Class act!

I personnely don't think there's any chance of him playing today, just a ruse to get more in the gate?
