Danny is rated as one of the players to watch
By Nathan Jackson August 5 2008
Danny Hone has been rated by the Football League as one of the five most promising prospects in League Two. The youngster was arguably the best young player to make his first team debut for the Imps last season and it was little surprise to hear that he was attracing interest from higher up the Football League.

Hone was handed a shock debut in the 2007/8 season in a home game against Chester City, replacing the injured Lee Beevers in the defence. Since then he has been a surprise regular inclusion in the first team and his performances have won praise from all quarters. Now he has been officially rated by the Football League as one of the hottest young prospects in League Two.

Along with Barnet's Albert Adomah, Ryan Bennett from Grimsby Town, Gillingham's Charlie Howard and Matt Phillips from Wycombe Wanderers, Hone has been mentioned in an article pointing out the young players who are likely to make an impact higher up in the League.

Peter Jackson already considers him to be the best young defender outside of the Premier League. The last time he described someone as "the best young ..... outside of the Premier League" saw him sell Jon Stead for well over £1,000,000 to Blackburn Rovers at Huddersfield.

Can't disagree with that.

With some more experience he could deffo be the new McCombe or McAuley.
