My opinion of Scott Kerr greatly improved over the season. I used to think that he just seemed to shout "Come On!" at the kick off and wave his arms around for two or three seconds before then disappearing for the rest of the game. Now I think he is a relatively good choice for captain as he is not afraid to give the other players a bollocking when they need one. This all started when he had a go at Dany N'Guessan for misplacing a pass and seemingly not caring about it.
Scott was named as the captain during last summer by Schofield and it would appear the Kerr would be one of the players that the team were built around. Schofield then went on to barely use him in the first few weeks of the season...says it all about Schofield really.
Kerr didn't have a spectacular season but did make some good strides. His vision for a pass improved and he was probably one of the under-rated players of the season.
However, his disipline could definitely use some work. 9 yellow cards and 2 red cards isn't a great record for a captain. It makes you wonder how close Jackson came to taking the captaincy off him given that he stripped Efe Sodje of the Huddersfield captaincy for 3 red cards in 2004/5.
Overall, I think Kerr could be one of the central figures in the promotion push next season, assuming of course that he isn't suspended for half of it.
