The new fixture list will be announced on Monday 16th June at 10am.
The Imps are due an away game on the first day of the season. City have only been away on the first day twice since returning to the fourth tier. City returned to Divison 3 in 1999 and beat Rotherham 2-1 on the opening day. A 2-0 defeat against Hartlepool in 2000/1 was followed by a 2-1 defeat to Halifax in 2001/2.
City's first away opening day fixture of the century came with a 1-1 draw at Kidderminster in 2002/3. That was followed by a 1-0 defeat at home to Oxford before a 1-0 win at Shrewsbury in 2004/5. Successive 1-1 opening day draws at home to Northampton and Notts County was followed by last season's 4-0 home thrashing by Shrewsbury.
City will also be likely to get an away game on the last day as well, having only been away on the last day once since a 1-1 draw at Hull's Boothferry Park on the final day of 2001/2. The only away day game since then was a 3-0 thrashing at Yeovil.
