Torquay hold advantage over Exeter
By Nathan Jackson May 1 2008
Torquay United will be the favourites to progress to the BSP Playoff Final after a late Chris Zebroski goal secured a win for the Gulls over Exeter City. Torquay had 65% of the possession against their local rivals and they now simply need to avoid defeat to progress through to a final against Cambridge United or Burton Albion.

Tim Sills opened the scoring for Torquay in the 37th minute before Wayne Carlisle equalised 14 minutes from time. A close range goal in added on time gave the Gulls a victory that their possession deserved. Torquay will obviously now go into the second leg as favourites, although no-one will be ruling Exeter City out.

The Grecians lost the home leg to Oxford United last season but still progressed to the final after winning at the Kassam Stadium.

The second leg will be played at Plainmoor on Monday evening.

Burton Albion host Cambridge United tomorrow evening, with the 2nd leg being on Tuesday.

The winners of the semi finals will face each other on May 18th to decide who will be promoted with Aldershot.
