Top 7 decided following eventful Saturday
By Nathan Jackson April 20 2008
The Top 7 teams in League Two have now been decided, the only thing left to complete is which order that the teams will all finish it. It is still very tight at the bottom and could get even tighter if Wrexham win their game in hand. No-one came down on Saturday as Bournemouth won yet again but they are still in danger of going down.

MK Dons and Peterborough both won promotion on Saturday with away wins at Stockport and Hereford respectively. Those two defeats for the teams chasing third opened the door to Rochdale. Their win against Morecambe means they are now just a point off of automatic promotion.

Darlington and Wycombe also have very slim chances of a top 3 finish but all the aforementioned teams are guarateed a playoff place at the very least. It is the first time in many years that there is guaranteed not to be any last day nerves chasing 7th place.

The bottom of League 2 is a far different proposect though following wins for both Mansfield and Wrexham. The Dragons also have a game in hand which is against Hereford on Tuesday night. If they win that game then only 6 points will seperate them from Macclesfield in 19th place.

It willl certainly be a tight finish to the season and Notts County will certainly feel the pressure. They have by far the most difficult run in as they faced Wycombe and Chesterfield. However, County will be guaranteed safety if Dagenham and Mansfield both lose next weekend, that is because those two teams play each other on the final day of the season.

The Imps now know most of the grounds they are guaranteed to travel to next season. We will definitely face Chesterfield, Bradford, Morecambe, Brentford, Rotherham, Barnet, Bury, Grimsby, Shrewsbury, Accrington, Aldershot, Port Vale and Luton.

No-one came down from League One on Saturday. Bournemouth needed just a draw to guarantee staying up for another week, a 3-1 victory not only saved them for another weeke but also meant Walsall couldn't make the Playoffs. However, the Cherries will go down if they lose next weekend and Gillingham will join them if they failed to lose and Cheltenham pick up at least a point.

Aldershot's draw with Halifax sees them 1 point short of the 100 point mark, but the battle below them continues to change on a weekly basis. Exeter replaced Stevenage in the top 5 and they join Burton, Cambridge and Torquay in the Playoff places. The Blue Square season ends next Saturday.
