Defender : Daniel Hone
By Nathan Jackson February 26 2008
Much like Lee Frecklington, Danny Hone came out of no-where to become a first team regular and is now being rated as one of the best young players in the lower-leagues. Peter Jackson described him as the best young defender outside of the Premiership, a high accolade indeed considering all the young players Jackson has worked with in recent times.

Signed From : N/A

Debut : Lincoln City 0 Chester City 1 (2nd November 2007)

Peter Jackson's first game in charge saw many surprises, but none more surprising that Jackson's decision to replace the injured Lee Beevers with Danny Hone, a player who had rarely even made the bench for the Imps up until that point.

Danny's debut came as a surprise to many but it was a proud moment for the Hone family as he is the son of former City star, Mark Hone. Since then he has generally been a first team regular, with only a minor injury keeping him out of regular first team action around Christmas and New Year in 2007.

It won't be long before Danny has scouts coming to watch him and he scored his first goal for City in a 2-1 win over Rochdale in February 2008.
