Where do you think you're going? : Notts County
By Nathan Jackson
June 6 2007
Lincoln City will hope to continue their winning run at Meadow Lane. The Imps won at Meadow Lane during the 2007/8 season and will be hoping to continue that into the next season. Plus away fans are now in a different section of the ground, maybe not a bad thing.

To say Lincoln's recent results here have been far from satisfactory would be an understatement. City usually have a huge following at Meadow Lane and the total of roughly 7,000 fans travelling to support City there over the last 4 years have seen the Imps put in three of the most lethargic performances in that time period.

Other than the matches, a trip to Notts County are a great day out, a lot of pubs for all you drunkards, friendly supporters and the ground is extremely close to the town centre, the only problem being it's in Nottingham :P.

Right, firstly for all you drunkards comes a list of pubs. For all those that like a few young ladies who wear very little then there is a Hooters less than 3 minutes walk from the ground. There are plenty of other pubs around the area so you shouldn't have any difficulty finding a very decent pub nearby.

Lincoln fans will be in a completely new area of the ground next season. Getting an allocation of nearly 2000 seats in the Jimmy Sirrel Stand. The Kop has subsequently been transfered to house Notts County fans. This is unlikely to transfer the atmosphere there, as County fans are some of the quietest in the division.

County fans are generally quite friendly, if a little over-confident about their side's chances. However, you're unlikely to suffer any trouble at Meadow Lane, making this day a generally enjoyable fixture in the calendar.

Leave the M1 at Junction 26 and take the A610 towards Nottingham. Turn left before the River Trent in to Meadow Lane. There is parking with the entrance exactly opposite the away turnstiles, this costs £2. Other than that and it's pretty much street parking.

To get there from the station just go into the car park and then onto the nearby road, from there head east to the busy road. Turn right at the end of the road and keep walking for about 5 minutes and the ground is on your left.

Please note that there are considerably more trains than those listed above. These are just the select choice.

All returns are £8.10 and there is usually a "special" footballing train put on after the match the leads around 17:40 and is non-stop to Lincoln.
