City looking for that Friday night feeling
By Nathan Jackson
August 31 2006
It's been nearly a year since City's last evening game and it'll be a chance for City to extend the unbeaten run. City haven't won at home since March but also haven't lost so far this season and if the Imps get a victory against the league new-boys, it could see City move into the automatic places.

Accrington Stanley? Who Are they? Exactly! --- Am I the only one who finds that to be one of the stupidest jokes in football. Unfortunately, when you play Stanley, you're guaranteed to hear that joke about as many times as Simon Yeo would miss an open goal or Ollie Ryan would shoot straight at the goalkeeper.

After last weeks great win at Mansfield, the Imps returned to Sincil Bank for just the 3rd time so far this season with hopes to getting a win at Sincil Bank for the first time since another derby victory, the 5-0 victory over Grimsby in March. Since then, City have only drawn in the league, getting 6 points from a possible 18 available. With City facing 5 sides in the current bottom 8 in their next 6 homes, it's a great chance for City to finally kick off some home form to contribute to the excellent away form.

After going unbeaten in the opening month, it's vital that the good form continues into September and hopefully, if City win, we will hopefully move into the automatic promotion places for the first time in 4 years.

Nat Brown has returned from injury but is still unlikey to feature for the Imps. Ryan Amoo serves a suspension from last season and Jeff Hughes is away on international duties. This could see Lee Beevers move over to left-back and new loanee, Nicky Eaden moving into his right back position. It is likely Semple will replace Amoo but other than that, there should be no changes to the Mansfield game.

Who I think will start (Right to left)

Marriott

Eaden   Moses    Morgan    Beevers

Semple   Frecklington   Kerr     Mayo

Stallard    Forrester

Accrington haven't exactly jumped out of the blocks like Hereford have since being promotion. Infact, Stanley have won just the once so far and that came in a 2-0 win over struggling Barnet. Their other points coming against Stockport and Rochdale, two teams that are also struggling for form having lost against Chester and Darlington.

Arguably the player with the most potential at Accrington Stanley is former Manchester United striker, David Brown, he is one of 10 players who have spent time with a current Premiership club, however, for the majority you could count their appearances on one handed and be wastings more than half of your fingers.
