DOYLE EARNS FULL EIRE CALL UP

Reading striker Kevin Doyle has marked his fine club form by earning a call up to the full Republic of Ireland National squad for the games against Cyprus and Switzerland next month.

Doyle has been involved at international level before, with the U21's. But because Doyle is turning 22 shortly, meaning he is illegible for selection had left doubts about where he featured under Brian Kerr.

But Kerr has rewarded his good club form with a full call up. Ireland are without the services of Clinton Morrison of Crystal Palace and Andy Reid of Spurs who are both suspended.

It gets better and better for Doyle who signed from Cork City in June for £78,500. He started the season as 3rd choice striker but because of an injury to Dave Kitson, it meant Doyle got his chance earlier than expected. He has scored 3 goals this season.

The news comes as a fine boost to Reading Manager Steve Coppell who can boost a number of international players at Reading.

Current internationals are Marcus Hahnemann and Bobby Convey who feature for the USA. Imbrahima Sonko received a call up yesterday to the Senegal national squad. Brnyar Gunnarsson is a current first team player for Iceland while Ivar Ingimarsson has featured before, but has retired from international football because of a dispute with the head coach. Graeme Murty played for Scotland under the unsuccessful regime of Berti Vogts and finally, Leroy Lita has represented England U21's before while at former club Bristol City.

Congratulations to Kevin!
