COPPELL BACKS BRIGHTON BID

Former Brighton and Hove Albion Manager Steve Coppell was tonight part of the strong 10,000 person march which marched along Brighton pier with the Seagulls still waiting on a verdict on there new stadium at Falmer.

Coppell was manager of the Seagulls between October 2002 and October 2003, and still has fond memories of his short stay on the south coast.

The Seagulls have been waiting on a public enquiry verdict by the deputy prime minister John Prescott for years now after a number of setbacks in hope of a new stadium.

Currently taking place in Brighton is the annual Labour party conference, with the march coinciding with this event.

Taking part in the match was Albion supporters Des Lynam, Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim and all the Albion players along with former Manager Micky Adams. Also present was former Reading Manager Mark McGhee, who is of course now the Brighton Manager.
