SONKO IN SENEGAL CALL UP

Ibrahima Sonko's fine start to the season with Reading has been rewarded today with a call up to the full Senegalese national squad.

Senegal face Mali in a World Cup 2006 qualifier in Senegal and Sonko could be in line for his 1st official cap.

The former Brentford defender has proved his critics wrong this season with a great start as the Royals sit 2nd in the Coca Cola Championship.

Sonko was the subject of constant criticism last season for his "long ball hoof" defending and the majority of Reading supporters were mystified to see Steve Coppell reward him with a new 3 year deal in the summer.

Ibu will be joining up with fellow players such as El-Hadji Diouf, Salif Diao and Papa Boupa Diop.

Congratulations to Ibrahima!
