A new feature hear on www.bluenose.tk as we do a in depth look into new and old Birmingham City players. this new feature will run all season as we look to do every member of the current squad, that will hopefully lead us to promotion at the first attempt.
Neil Danns Signed for Birmingham city on the 19th of June 2006 in a £500,000 (could be worth £850,000 with a sell-on clause) deal that will see the highly rated 23-year-old join up with the blues squad.

Neil Danns
23/11/1982 (23 Years old)
5'9"
12 stone 3 pound

Neil danns started his career with Blackburn Rovers making 5 appearances and 1 as a sub in the 2002/03 season. Next season he was loaned out to Harltepool where he played eight games and 3 as a sub scoring his first senior goal. later in the 2004/04 season he returned to Blackburn making a further appearance from the bench which proved to be his last for Rovers. He spent the back end of the season on loan at Blackpool starting 14 games scoring two goals. In 2004/05  he completed his move to Colchester United scoring 11 goals in thirty-five games at his first season there, the highly energetic midfielder was a fans favorite with his energetic displays and found himself unlucky not to have won any end of season awards. Last season he scored a impresive 13 goals in 43 games making four substitute appearances.

Colchester were keen to keep the 23-year-old wizz kid by "making every attempt" to keep hold of his services. Phil Parkinson told cu-fc.co.uk last season   "We have made every attempt to keep Neil here and will obviously be disappointed to lose him, both as a player and a character around the place.

"I will be the first to shake his hand should he leave - he has been fantastic in the time he has been here, but this move could also work in our favour, with me being able to bring in other players as a result."

Overall Danns scored 29 goals in 82 starts for Colchester United.

Neil had his first exclusive interview with www.bcfc.com

I had a great time at Colchester and it kick-started my career," admitted Danns, speaking exclusively to Blues World earlier today.

"But when a club the size of Birmingham come in for you, it's hard to say no.

"There is so much prestige about the club and the quality of players that are here, it's a great opportunity for me."

Neil Danns is supposed to be an interesting prospect. I'm not sure if he's going to be a star on the world stage, but he might do it at club level. He's a young (about 17) midfielder with Blackburn."
