Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is recovering well from knee surgery.

"I read the stuff and it was a bit hysterical,'' said the United manager.

"Our physiotherapy department were pretty upset about it because it is not the diagnosis we have been given. We believe Ole is coming along fine.

"He was given a break last week because he had been doing too much but he is back in training this week and at this stage we don't see any great problem.

"We have treated it the right way. We have given him a three-month break and hopefully he will be back soon.''
