Another depressing defeat for Harriers going down 3-0 at Sincil Bank to The Imps yesterday. The game had the potential of producing a first win for either side, with Kidder looking for their first away win and the Imps for their first at home. Unfortunately it was the latter as Harriers failed yet again. Once again there was no Iyseden Christie, who was expected to be on the bench but his foot is still causing him problems, maybe next week Icy. Please see other sites for match reports, as I didn’t make the trip to Lincoln.

So what now ?
Harriers find themselves bottom of the league still and to be honest, I, like many Kidder fans cant see where the next win is coming from, let alone a revival. Normally in such circumstances, the answer most fans seek is the removal of the manager. This was the case last year when in a similar position, Ian Britton was releaved of his duties. Of course, Jan came back to replace him and ultimately led us to safety with the added bonus of an appearance in the FA Cup 3rd round. Unfortunately we now find ourselves back to square one and possibly in worse trouble than last year.
It would be easy to bring in a new manager but the question is who ? Who could do the job ? Who would want the job ? After all, you do pay for what you get most times in this world and, with the lowest budget in the league, we are getting what we deserve. So is it the boards fault ? Well once again who is going to take over and put the money in, other than the current board? Once again, no queue forming yet. Plus even if there was someone to takeover, could they be trusted ? Think of how many teams, especially at our level have thought they’d found a saviour only to find out that the saviour nearly bankrupted the club.
So there’s not much we can do really other than hope for the best. If we got a new manager no one could say if he could do better. He would want to bring his own players in and being as we haven’t got any money, it’s a none starter. Plus the fact that Jan and Gary have recently signed contracts, they would need to be paid up thus even more money coming out. Maybe the board could release more money, but then that’s a gamble which could prove to be fatal. When we were doing well, where was the investment and support ? Nowhere to be seen. If we were to be relegated or even worse fall into administration, who would save us ? I cant see anyone, other than KHIST and to be fair, it would be a tall order for them to save us without outside help.
Sorry to be so negative but lets be realistic, this is how a team of our size and support should perform really. Much bigger clubs in terms of support and financial backing have been relegated, we’ve just been lucky in some ways. But there is still time. We looked doomed when we first were promoted to the Conference and survived, although where was a change of manager. The in 1991/92 we just about escaped, this time with no change of manager. So all is not lost yet, but it ain’t looking good at the moment.
