It was reported today that Harriers wont be appealing against Abdou Salls sending off against Southend on Saturday. The video of the game failed to show any evidence either way so Sall now misses the next 3 games.
So another tough test down at Bristol with bottom of the table Harriers looking for inspiration to lift them out of a depressing start to the season. It seems simular to last season, when we were in a simular state, although, largely thanks to Carlisle, managed to avoid the bottom spot. This year, it seems even tougher, although I dont think its time to throw the towel in just yet. After the 1st 3 games, unbeaten and without a goal conceded, some of us were going overboard and predicting a succesful season. Now were bottom, relegation is the word on everyones lips. Time will tell, but we need things to improve quickly.
A trip to Rovers is not the expected place of a revival. Of course, its not even a league fixture and with all due respect to the LDV, I would much prefer 3 points. What one would hope for tomorrow is a lift in spirit that an unlikely victory would bring, as well as a 2nd round place.
Team news
Harriers will be without Sall, as mentioned earlier along with Rueben Hazell, who is likely to be out for some time. Freddy Advice and Micky Mellon are unlikey to be playing, with the main hope for some action from Icy Christie. The former Mansfield man missed the Southend defeat following his impressive debut the week before againt Macclesfield. His return does seem crucial at this stage. Harriers will come up against a familiar face in Craig Hinton, who will face Kidder for the1st time since his summer move south.
Verdict
Depends on both teams attitude, with both having league distractions at either end. If we approach it positively and Rovers dont then who knows ? But if we dont and Rovers do, god help us. Put your thoughts on the score on the prediction league, not many have, so your sure to be top of the league!
Whatever happens, Saturdays bottom of the table clash with Cambridge, does seem a little more important.
