Easy win for Wycombe

August 28 2004
Kidderminster Harriers went down to their 1st home defeat this afternoon. Goals in each half saw The Chairboys notch an easy win..

Harriers 0 Wycombe 2 (HT 0-1) Brief report

Harriers boss Jan Molby made changes to the Kidder line up handing a debut to Simon Russell in place of Mellon. Chris Mc Hale returned to the bench as Adie Viveash made his return. Despite some early promise from Simon Brown Harriers never really got going today as Wycombe strolled to victory.

Wycombe took the lead through the impressive Nathan Tyson, who raced clear of the Kidder backline to slot neatly in the corner. It was no more than they deserved as they had already gone close, with Danby forced to add to his growing reputation and Wanderers Stonebridge had already hit the post. Harriers best chance of the half was a slice by a Wycombe defender which was just about saved by Talia.

Harriers brought on Mellon and Appleby for Russell and Advice early in the 2nd half but the performance level didnt rise. Jesper Christiansen, again the subject of the boo boys did registar and effort with ashot from just inside the area but it was easily saved. Easy to moan about 1 player but no one was outstanding today. Tyson twice nearly added to his tally, firstly hitting the post and then seeing Danby push his angled effort away. Harriers rarely threatened, with Mellon and Hatswell seeing their shots from free kicks charged down. Late on Hatswell did manage a header on target but it was straight at Talia in the Wycombe goal. The killer 2nd arrived in injury time with Tyson turning provider for sub Hamed who tapped in easily after the former Reading man had made an awfully long run.

So next up its Bury and an improvement is sort. We need to play much better than today and when we do get the level up we need to score goals. Lets hope Iyseden Christie is fit soon and is as good as we hope he is. Otherwise we could be in trouble.

News

Harriers have been drawn away to Bristol Rovers in the LDV trophy. Great ! Not only a difficult game but I prefer it when we play teams we wouldnt normally.
