The good news with tonight is the news that Simon Brown is available to play. The West Brom loan star, who missed Saturdays defeat to Mansfield through suspension has been cleared to play by the Albion (Cheers Baggies! But you aint got a centre half going spare ?)
The bad news is that fellow loanee, Adie Viveash will not be playing tonight, with his club Swindon not wanting him Cup tied (bad Robins!). It is expected that youngster Chris Mc Hale will step in for his 2nd start of the season. Harriers still have a few out injured, with defenders Sall and Hazell plus strikers Diop and Christie all unlikely to play. Young Mc Hale was also carrying a knee injury but lets hope hes ok.
Some reports suggest that Cardiff, who havent had the best of starts could also make changes with boss Lenny Lawrence expected to give some of his squad players a chance. This could make our hard task at bit easier or of course, it could make it worse. The incoming players will be fired up and eager to impress.

This will be Harriers 5th attempt to get beyond the 1st round of the Carling Cup, having lost out in round one on every occasion, since our promotion back in 2000. Appart from the hammering at Forest in 2002, we've aquitted ourselves quite well. Our last game against Cardiff was in the 2000/1 season where we lost 4-2 at home and drew 0-0 at Ninian Park. I think I;m right in saying our last cup game with the Bluebirds was in the Welsh Cup in 1989, when we won 3-1. So a bit of good news then.
So heres hoping, obviously luck will be required to beat the Championship team.
