| Park Agent Confirms Approach |

The agent of PSV Eindhoven star Park Ji-Sung, Chiel Dekker, has revealed that Manchester United have made an official approach to the Dutch champions in an attempt to sign his client. Park, aged 24, has been a United target for a few months as the Red Devils look to strengthen their midfield and provide back-up for the aging legs of Roy Keane, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs. A move for the South Korean midfielder will also spark much interest in Asia as United look to boost their popularity in countries across the continent. Agent Dekker said that Park
would like to sign a new contract at the Philips Stadion, but a move to
England would be too tempting. "He wanted to extend his deal," he
confirmed. "But, when a club such as Manchester United approaches you, it will make you doubt. Park himself said he is likely to move on from Holland if it helps his career. "If I am assured that I can develop further with the team to which I will move, then I will do so," he said. The star, voted the most popular sportsman in South Korea, made a name for himself at Kyoto Purple before completing a switch to PSV after impressing former national team coach Guus Hiddink. It is said that the combination of Park and Dong Fangzhuo will make the Red Devils the most popular club across Asia after the successes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea in recent seasons. |
