Squad Numbers Announced

Manchester United have released the squad numbers for the 2003/2004 campaign.

There are few surprises in the allocated numbers, with new teenage signing Cristiano Ronaldo being given the famous number 7 jersey.

The shirt has been worn by such United greats as Bryan Robson, George Best, Eric Cantona and most recently David Beckham.

Wesley Brown has been given Rio Ferdinand's number 6 shirt, with United's record singing taking the number 5.

Fabien Barthez had retained the number 1 shirt, although the odds of him being first choice 'keeper at Old Trafford this season look increasingly slim.

New signing David Bellion has been specified the number 12 shirt, whilst other new-boy Kleberson has been made to feel at home, as Sir Alex has given him his World Cup winning number 15 jersey.
