There was more frustration for Manchester United supporters on Sunday, as struggling West Ham United held the Red Devils to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, in a game which saw Jose Mourinho sent to the stands.
Despite Mourinho subtly bigging up United's chances of a title challenge in the build-up to the game, United dropped two points against an Irons side stuttering at the wrong end of the Premier League table.
Mourinho was sent to the stands after kicking a water bottle in anger, after United's midfielder Paul Pogba was booked for diving.
United's Portuguese boss had watched the away side take an early lead, as Diafra Sakho nodded home.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic restored parity, however, on 21 minutes, with the Swedish frontman connecting with a Pogba cross. Despite dominating possession and long spells of the game, however, United were left frustrated by a stubborn West Ham side, who had goalkeeper Darren Randolph in inspired form.
An opportunity to get one over West Ham quickly resurfaces on Wednesday night, with the Hammers back in the North West for a hotly-anticipated League Cup quarter-final clash.
Full Time - Manchester United 1-1 West Ham United
