United season tickets on general sale as Kansas fans delight

Not renewing?
By Chris,
July 27 2010
Major League Soccer outfit Kansas City Wizards sold an extra 700 season tickets following their pre-season friendly win over United. Over the Atlantic, however, Manchester United have been forced to put 4,000 season tickets on general sale following below-par summer sales.
Goals from Davy Arnaud and Kei Kamara handed the Wizards a 2-1 win over a youthful United side on Sunday.

Dimitar Berbatov's penalty was sandwiched between the two Kansas goals as United's impressive pre-season form ground to a halt.

In the aftermath of the results, the Wizards sold 700 season tickets for next year's MLS campaign.

Meanwhile, United officials have been forced to put 4,000 season tickets on general sales. Many fans decided not to renew their season tickets in protest at the Glazer's management of the club - though 50,000 have already been sold.

The news has raised questions over the alleged 'waiting list' of fans supposedly queuing up to buy season tickets; while supporters groups now await news on how well the clubs lucrative executive seat packages have sold.

A club spokesman shunned reports claiming the sales figures are bad news for the club, saying: "We are very happy with the way sales have gone and have already sold more season tickets than the capacity of 17 Premier League grounds."

Kansas City, igmo.

The name of the municipality the Wizards call home is Kansas City. Not Kansas. "City" is not a name like "Manchester City" or "Hull City," who play in Manchester and Hull, respectively.

Writing "Kansas fans" and "Kansas goals" shows your ignorance. The Wizards represent Kansas City, Missouri.

The geography lesson is taken on board!

The United global community knows no barriers even in Kansas!

Heck _ Americans are experts at UK stuff! We all live around the corner from Buckingham Palace!!!

To be fair, the arrogance of your response is unnecessary mate.

How are we supposed to get everything 100% right in terms of referance to a league that noone knew existed before a certain Mr Beckham took residence over there......

But i'm sure we'll endeavour to get it spot on next time!
