Assistant boss Mike Phelan believes new United frontman Javier Hernandez could have a "major influence" at Old Trafford. The diminutive striker impressed pundits with his displays at the World Cup and is tipped for big things at the Theatre of Dreams.

Hernandez bagged two goals in South Africa before Mexico bowed out of the World Cup.

Phelan has told the club's official website that all at Old Trafford were "pleased" with his displays at the tournament and that he is confident that the player will prove a "major influence" on the team.

United fans are excited about the Mexican's arrival in the North West with nearly 63% of fans currently in favour of him partnering Wayne Rooney in attack according to our latest ManUtdWeb poll.
