By Chris, February 14 2010 With Manchester United out of action this weekend, it’s not surprising that the club have instead been involved in some intense press speculation. Defender Nemanja Vidic is the subject of the report – with Citeh linked with an unlikely swoop for the centre-half.
Rivals Manchester City have been linked with a sensational summer swoop for Nemanja Vidic.
United's tenacious centre-half has been the subject of much speculation in recent months - with Barcelona and Real Madrid both strongly linked with a £30million bid for the Serbian.
Reports have long hinted that Vidic is not enjoying life at Old Trafford and is keen to move to pastures news for a fresh challenge.
The Sunday Times reports that Manchester City could be set to provide Vidic with the opportunity to jump ship at United - joining ex-Red Red Carlos Tevez at Eastlands.
Despite the press reports, the move seems an unlikely one. Sir Alex Ferguson and United's supporters would hate to see another prize asset join City, while Vidic is reportedly unsettled in the North West so would surely prefer a move abroad.
However, the story is sure to fuel more talk of a power shift in Manchester as City continue to look at buying their way out of a silverware drought spanning over three decades.
he is missing probably one of our biggest game because he wants to leave for a place that doesnt rain everyday. if you ask me it sounds a bit greedy to me
if reports are and he is really injured, then i plead for forgiveness because i do love vidic. if not...piiss off you are not the only great player to play for our team.
Thank you vidic for the work you done for us. its understandable you need change in your life. You could have been a legend here but like most players of your generation lack loyalty.
Hope you change your mind by summer but i just dont see it.
