Kiko Macheda signs on 'til 2014

Bright spark!
By Chris,
December 2 2009
Federico Macheda has penned a new deal at Old Trafford that will keep him at the club until June 2014. The 18-year-old is widely regarded to be one of the Premier League's brightest prospects.

Macheda burst onto the scene last season with astunning last-gasp goal as United came from behind to beat Aston Villa 3-2 atOld Trafford.

The Italian followed up that strike with anothergoal at Sunderland – but he is yet to hit thetarget this season.

The teenager is highly-rated by United's backroomteam and a strike partnership with Danny Welbeck has caught the eye atreserve-team level.

Macehda’s new deal expires in June 2014. By the timeit’s up for renewal, the player will hope to be a regular in the Unitedline-up. Can he do it? Join in the discussions on the messageboard.

Great news - he's a fantastic prospect. I personally rate Welbeck higher, but he and Kiko have the potential to be top players.
